Problem
A construction site at Coopers Hill in Alverchurch contacted us when one of their red site dumpers was sidelined by a flat front-left tyre. The vehicle was positioned on uneven ground, making it impossible to continue with the day’s scheduled earthmoving tasks without immediate assistance. Mihai, of MMC Tyres, dispatched to the B48 area to assess whether the heavy-duty tyre required a full dumper tyre replacement or a puncture repair would suffice.
Solution
Upon arrival at the Alverchurch site, our technician securely jacked up the dumper to remove the damaged wheel and inspect the internal components. We identified a significant puncture in the inner tube, which required specialist tools and a precise repair process to ensure the machine could safely handle heavy loads again. After performing the puncture repair on the inner tube and thoroughly checking the tyre casing, we refitted the wheel and brought it up to the correct operating pressure using our on-board equipment.
Outcome
The rapid response from our mobile tyre fitter ensured the dumper was back in operation with minimal downtime for the project at Coopers Hill. By providing a comprehensive on-site repair rather than a more expensive full replacement, we saved the client both time and unnecessary costs. The machine was able to resume work on the construction site immediately, backed by our commitment to safety and quality standards for heavy machinery in the B48 district.
