Tyre Repair
MMC Tyres strives to repair commercial tyres caused by punctures or other minor tyre damage wherever possible to extend tyre life and to save you money.
Tyre Replacement
If MMC Tyres is unable to repair the tyre because it would be illegal to do so, we supply replacement tyres for all budgets from market recognised brands, either new or part-worn.
Tyre Fitting
With any tyre repair or replacement, MMC Tyres removes the tyre from the vehicle before repairing or changing it. At which point, we fit it back to your vehicle, so that you can get back on the road.
Onsite or Roadside
MMC Tyres is a mobile tyre service. So, we can rescue drivers on the roadside, including the major motorways, or visit you onsite. All the tools and equipment is carried in our state-of-the-art van.
Tyre Balancing
We ensure smooth and even tyre wear by balancing the weight distribution of the tyre. This way, existing or new tyres can serve your drivers for an even long period of time, saving you money.
Tyre Inspection
MMC Tyres offers members of our Fleet Management Programme with regular tyre inspection to check for wear, damage and pressures to prevent future failures, keeping your drivers on the road.
Tyre Pressure
Members of our Fleet Management Programme benefit from tyre pressure monitoring whereby we pump any tyres below the recommended tyre pressure to ensure fuel economy and even wear.
Fleet Management
Free tyre checks for the first 2 months. Tyre checks every 4 to 6 weeks covering at least 85% of the vehicles. No callout fee for onsite work after 120 minutes from call. 24h roadside assistance.

x2 HGV Rear-Axle Tyre Re-grooving in Lath Lane, Smetwick, Birmingham
Project Overview
MMC Tyres recently attended a commercial vehicle on Lath Lane, Smethwick, to carry out professional tyre regrooving on two rear axle tyres fitted to a curtain-sided HGV.
The customer contacted us after noticing significant tread wear on the rear axle tyres. Following an inspection, our technician confirmed that both tyre casings remained suitable for regrooving, making this a practical and cost-effective alternative to immediate tyre replacement.
The Challenge
Commercial vehicles cover thousands of miles each month, causing gradual tread wear that can impact tyre performance, longevity, and operating costs.
In this case, both rear axle tyres had worn considerably through normal use. While the tyres had reached a stage where the tread pattern was becoming shallow, the casings remained in good condition and were suitable for professional regrooving.
Replacing tyres prematurely can create unnecessary costs for fleet operators and owner-drivers, which is why regrooving is often an effective solution when conditions allow.
Our Solution
Using specialist regrooving equipment from our fully equipped mobile tyre service vehicle, we carefully restored the tread pattern on both tyres.
The process involved cutting new grooves into the tyre tread in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications, restoring a defined tread pattern designed to improve traction and extend the usable life of the tyre.
By carrying out the work directly at the customer’s location, we eliminated the need for the vehicle to travel to a workshop, helping minimise downtime and disruption to operations.
The Results
Following completion of the regrooving process, both tyres displayed a significantly improved tread pattern and were ready to continue service.
