Problem
A driver in a grey Audi Q5 experienced a sudden and dangerous tyre blowout while travelling northbound on the M5 between junctions 4 and 3. The tyre was completely shredded, leaving the vehicle stranded on the hard shoulder in a high-risk position. With traffic moving at speed and the wheel beyond repair, the motorist required an urgent mobile tyre fitting service to get them back on the move safely.
Solution
Our mobile unit arrived promptly and positioned the service van ahead of the Audi to establish a secure working environment on the motorway verge. We utilised a heavy-duty hydraulic jack and professional roadside tools to remove the damaged wheel and prepare the hub for a fresh installation. A brand new tyre was fitted and balanced on-site, ensuring the vehicle met all safety standards before it was lowered back onto the tarmac.
Outcome
The rapid response meant the driver was not left vulnerable on the side of the M5 for any longer than necessary. By completing the tyre replacement at the roadside, we saved the customer the substantial cost and delay of a recovery tow to a garage. The Audi Q5 was able to continue its journey toward Birmingham with a reliable new tyre, restoring the vehicle’s performance and the driver’s peace of mind.
